"Grandma, why do you work so much?"
My granddaughter asked me that just last week, and I realized I didn't have a good answer.
For 28 years, I've been handcrafting jewelry in my small studio. Over 150,000 women have worn my pieces—to weddings, anniversaries, and everyday moments. I loved every minute of it.
But three months ago, I almost missed my granddaughter's dance recital because of a big order. When I got there late, she looked at me with those big eyes and said, "Where were you, Grandma?"
That's when I knew. I'm closing my studio doors for the last time. Not because I have to—but because I choose my family.
